NAME provides “Nouthetic counselling (Greek: noutheteo, to admonish) is a form of pastoral counselling that holds that counselling should be based solely upon the Bible and focused upon Christ. It repudiates mainstream psychology and psychiatry as humanistic, radically secular is fundamentally opposed to Christianity. The Baker Encyclopedia of psychology and counselling states that “The aim of Nouthetic Counselling is to effect change in the counsel by encouraging greater conformity to the principles of Scripture.”
Pastors and Lay People, are you aware that NAME Canada will partner with you to train couples to become Certified Coaches and establish a NAME Centre in your church? Once trained, these coaching volunteers can assist other couples by mentoring them, giving them an understanding of God's design for marriage and helping restore relationships using Bible-based resources that NAME Canada provides! There is help for couples in many situations, such as pre-marital preparation, healing broken relationships and enhancement of marriage, at any stage. Our Certified Coaches can be an invaluable resource as they embrace hurting couples from your church and community, bringing hope and encouragement, which results in stronger marriages and families.
Healthy marriages are the very foundation of thriving families and communities . Marriages matter and divorce affects everyone. NAME Canada is committed to helping marriages flourish. NAME Canada is willing to come alongside couples and churches to train and equip those who believe that God wants to use them to help families in their marriages, or in preparing for the covenant of marriage. This training is Bible-Based, Scriptural, Spirit-filled, Interdenominational, Nouthetic Counselling.
At NAME Canada, we are committed to training and equipping husband-and-wife teams to perform biblical counselling through our intense, but user friendly DVD teaching.
